Open source, Nutch-based, search engine ObjectsSearch.com has released a beta version of a new API service that allows software developers to incorporate ObjectsSearch's capabilities into their own applications. "Called ObjectsSearch Web APIs (application programming interfaces), the developer's kit provides documentation and sample code for using the service for Java. With the ObjectsSearch Web APIs service, software developers can query ObjectsSearch index from their own computer programs. ObjectsSearch uses the SOAP and WSDL standards so a developer can program in his or her favorite environment - such as Java, Perl, or Visual Studio .NET. " Objects Search is the second search engine after Google to release their own Web API's.
